Leuven Volley for organizers

Description

General information for organizers

Public sessions

Creating public sessions is easy. On the session overview page there is a button to add a new session. Click on it and fill in the requested information (make sure the date and location are correct!). The description can remain empty, but you can use it to give additional information (for example, a minimal or maximal player level, or that it’s a technical practice instead of regular games).

After the session is created it will appear in the overview. As creator you aren’t on the players list by default, if you want to join you have to add yourself to the list as well.

If wanted you can change the session’s information later on. Players who’re already on the list will receive a notification that the session has been edited.

Private sessions

When creating (or editing) sessions, you can choose to make it private. If you do, the session will only be visible in your own session overview (since you have access to all of your own sessions), but not in that of anyone else.

On the session’s page there is a button to take care of invitations. It gives access to the following actions:

1.       Inviting a group: use this one to give all members of the invited group(s) access to the session.

2.       Inviting friends: If you have users on your friend list you can invite them directly. They still have to accept the invite first before they’re added to the players list.

3.       Generating an invite link: if a logged in user follows the link he’ll get access to the session. When you generate a new invite link the old one expires.

It’s also possible to make a private session public by editing the session details.

Groups

A group is in principle just a collection of players. You can create a group using the button in the group overview. Fill in the name and description and decide if you want to make it a public or private group. Private groups are added to the list of groups and are visible for everyone and everyone can easily join them.

As creator of a group you’ll automatically be a member of it. On the group’s page you’ll see some information at the top along with a few buttons to manage the group.

To get users in your group you can either invite them directly based on (a part of) their username, or generate an invite link which you can share via other channels. When you create a new invite link the old one expires.

As owner of the group you can also pass on the ownership to another member via the update group button. You can also make members moderators. These can also directly invite users or remove members from the group.

Beneath the general information of the group you’ll find an overview of all sessions to which the group has been invited. Beneath that there’s a list of all the members of the group.
